Welcome to another edition of the Mahoney ‘Employee Spotlight’! This spotlight is our way to reflect on and draw positive attention to the most important assets of Mahoney – its employees! A functioning business cannot function without a solid team in place, and we are extra proud of that team. Next up is Tommy Goutis!
What is your role at the company? How long have you been with Mahoney and what position did you start at?
T: Driver for Joliet Trap Department. I have been with Mahoney for 10 years and I started as a Trap Helper.
If you could switch your job with anyone else within Mahoney, whose job would you want?
T: Steve Jones.
How do you balance your career at Mahoney with family life?
T: It’s not easy during the week, but I always make time for my family, the best way that I can.
What is on your wish list for the next five years at ME?
T: To continue to grow within the Trap department.
What is your favorite aspect of your job?
T: Servicing the customer and the early morning start.
What has been your favorite project that you worked on here at Mahoney?
T: Obtaining my CDL and to keep it in good and safe standing.
What drew you to Mahoney when you initially started and how has the company changed since then?
T: Job security as grease never runs out of supply. Mahoney has grown nationwide, which is incredible!
Before working at Mahoney, what was the most interesting or unusual job you had?
T: Working landscaping during the summer months while in high school.
Share your proudest moment since coming on board at Mahoney?
T: Winning Driver of the Year was pretty special.
What are three words you’d use to describe Mahoney Environmental?
T: World Class Service.

T: Rockfest in 2000.

T: Tough Guy, Life on the Edge. It is about the life of Bob Probert .
If you could interview one person in the world (dead or alive), who would it be, and why?
T: Chris Farley, funniest person I have ever seen.
If you could change careers right now, what would you choose?
T: P.E. Teacher.
What were you like in high school?
T: Loud and outgoing.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
T: Time travel. I’d love to live in the 60’s and 70’s.
People would be surprised if they knew what about you or what’s your secret talent that no one knows about?
T: I can speak Greek.
Do you have an office nickname? What is it?
T: Super T.
Three words that best describe you?
T: Funny, loud, competitive.
