Mahoney Expands Compliance Support for Low Carbon Fuel Programs

We’re proud to share that we’ve expanded our sustainability compliance support to cover California’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard (LCFS) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements. We’ve been recycling used cooking oil for food service operators since 1953, and that work now reaches further into the markets where low-carbon fuels are made and sold. The announcement was published on PR Newswire.

The expansion builds on our participation in the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) EU system and the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA), which govern feedstock sustainability in Europe and international aviation. As demand for low-carbon fuels grows, producers and regulators increasingly require documentation that waste-based feedstocks meet the applicable standards.

We collect and clean used cooking oil and grease trap material into raw materials for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel. Adding LCFS and CARB support means we can back our customers across more of the markets where those fuels are produced and sold.

“Used cooking oil is a valuable resource. Expanding our work to include LCFS and CARB means we can support our customers across more of the markets where low-carbon fuels are made and sold,” said Dave Kimball, President and CEO of Mahoney Environmental.

We look forward to supporting our customers as low-carbon fuel programs continue to grow.
